diablo2 wine windowed issues

Postby Digit » Mon Dec 08, 2008 17:13

i run diabloiix (usually in kde) with wine. windowed mode works, fullscreen messes up. i prefer the windowed in so far that i can see my chats still open on another monitor. but if i accidentally click off the screen (or intentionally), the window minimises again. really not helpfull when playing as a sorc or zon, my two favourite. so to help remedy this, when i load it up i remember to right click on the window bar and set a keyboard shortcut to bring it back after i click off the window and it disapears. it's imperfect. i'd much rather it work as if in virtual box... the cursor locks until i press a key combo to get the cursor out. any way to do this? or other solutions? even just to stop it disapearing when i mis-click off the window?

Interesting quetstion - if I remember from my Diablo II days those minimizations are a function of the game itself, not wine - check around the old blizzard forums for a fix. If you launch Diablo II in virtualbox/another windows system and it doesn't exhibit this behavior, then I suppose a blizzard patch implemented this fix, and the wine clicking thing is a different problem.
