Regnum Online stops after login

Hi there,

after over 14 months of playing Regnum Online on WinXP I tried to setup and start it on Sabayon 3.5 r1 (64bit). I used the quite new 64-bit-installer from here and so far there are no problems with the installation.

When I start RO with a click on the desktop icon there is the Screen to log in. After logging in the client will be closed without an error message. When I try to start it from the bash, it shows the following error message

Hi,

I googled the error message and found this. Try launching the game with "MALLOC_CHECK_=0 ./rolauncher" in the directory where the game is installed.

Hi,

I tried this before after I downloaded the other file from the german page. As it didn't work with a long error message I tried it with the installer file from the official NGD page.

OK, when I start the game now with the MALLOC_CHECK the client starts normal like before with clicking the desktop icon. After I enterd my login datas it still stops working.

I also googled for this error and found this solution. It works in the most ways for Debian (Ubuntu), SuSE and Fedora distros. Is there a special thing with Gentoo? Maybe somthing special with my notebook? How can I test the drivers and necessary packages?

Well I have no idea why Malloc causes a segmentation fault...you should probably try posting on the official forum here: http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum/fo ... y.php?f=11
Maybe they can help you.

Thanks, I try to register at the NGD forum. We german players has no access with our account to the forum.

Now I have no difference betwen MALLOC and the simple start. Both show the SegFault. I keep you informed here in the thread about the solution.
