I posted a "How to" on how to get Oblivion up and running with wine on the Off Topic Section. I post alot of "How to's" on these forums. The fact is that for windows based games its hit and miss most of the time and involves a great deal of googling and forum crashing. I would be happy to continue doing this and will now post my gaming stuff here. Sabayon always comes with the latest and greatest wine version and all the proprietary fonts and probably the best openGL integration of any distro on the streets today so thats not an issue. Cedega and CVS are both proprietary so those you would have to get on your own, although there is an ebuild for Cedega 6 you can use after you download the tarball from Transgaming. Wine has made huge strides over the last 6 months and Cedega now supports pixel and vertex shader 2.0, so basicly, there no longer is any game on the market today that will not run in Linux.
Ive seen a few wine toys like xwine and winetools and even played with them a bit on my Ubuntu server but honestly, its just easier using the plane jane wine than screwing around with that other stuff.. $wine /media/cdrom/caesar3setup.exe ... $wine "C:\Program Files\SIERRA\Caesar3\c3.exe"
Come on now, how hard is that?
