Very slightly! I also used to have a large (but not THAT large) colection of distros on CD. I recently tried to install Mandriva 2005LE and it wouldn't work. I tried it on several PCs and none would read the disk. So unless you use better quality CDs than me you might find some of them no longer work.

I have made a huge collection over the last few years. I suppose I should go through and bin some of the older ones and only keep the current ones. Think I still have Knoppix 3.4 kicking about somewhere! As for SuSE 9.0 9.1 9.2 9.3 10.0 10.1 10.2 I might as well just bin the lot. I think its handy to keep a handfull of up-to-date Distro's particularly Knoppix/Back|track. Unless anyone wants a copy of Yoper 2.1 I think I am going to have a big clean out.

Mine too. Then the retail price jumped. Then I tried SuSE 7.2 and 7.3 but they lacked support for my rockwell based modem so back to winnt I went. Rockwell refused to release critical information so the modem was unsupported by the kernels of that time period. It was impractical to try to download any distros on a dial-up connection. Thank the powers that be for the development of dsl!

I thought I had a large collection till I read this post!!!! I do have RETAIL versions of
Red Hat 5.5 and 6.1
Mandrake 7.0 and
Turbo Linux 6.0,

I also have copies of

Slackware 3.1, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10.1 and 11.
Slamd64 11,
Knoppix 3-5.1
suse 8 and 9,
Fedora Core 1, 2, 3
IPCop 1.3 - 1.4.15
Smoothwall ( i don't remember what version)
and quite a few others

Lately I only get copies of the Distros I actively use, (eg: Slackware (desktop), Sabayon (Laptop) and IPCop (Firewall/DHCP server)

I will be searching for a distro to build a Multi-Media center on. The main focus is an external/SCSI 100 disk DVD reader/Jukebox (Pioneer DRM-1000)

If anybody is familiar with this device, I am open to suggestions
