well although maybe 30% say they will get it right away (60% by sp1)but that is only out of people with good enough of a system to run. maybe 50% fall below. so if 60% of those capibile will then that is like 30% of the total number of people with computers.
i for one dont have enough ram, i think you need 1gb and i only have 256 mb
I didn't take the poll, but my plan is to become windows free this year. EULA is what did it for me. The Windows OS has it's place for a part of the population, but I just cannot purchase an OS with a limit on what I can install MY legal piece of software on. OK, I'll climb off my tiny soap box and fade back into the obscurity of the masses
1 gb of ram is recommended minimum
then you need 40 gb space just run your system
video 128 mb min
etc
etc
if you have 2-kernel cpu - one is waisted just for eye-candy-stuff
so
who will upgrade his hardware just to give a try to another ms experiment?
I'll probably need a new computer to upgrade to Vista, which means not anytime soon. I never installed XP to start with, so why would I bother with Vista?
Ma philosophie d'apprentissage : essayer, et si ça casse, essayer de réparer.
My learning philosophy: try it, and if it breaks, try to fix it.

Talking about how does Vista look like, don't you forget that 90% of that stuff has been "stolen" from Linux and OSX - that's why M$ needed 15 months or so delay in launching Vista! And - knowing about that - both Apple and KDE4 teams had to wait with launching their products. They simply wanted prevent Vista from another delays "due to need of safety improvements"
