Comment on newly installed gnome-shell

I just installed gnome-shell and I'm liking it. But I have what I guess is a harsh criticism of gnome in general. Can they possibly make gnome any more plain and uninspiring? Like I said I like the way gnome-shell works and feels but geez can we see a little pizaz? Let's start a collection to hire a first year art student to create a more appealing theme.
