I finished (really? No!) the DemiDark version, where the colors of the applications have the classic 'clear look' while all (really ALL) menus are in dark style.

some other links:
shot_demi_001, shot_demi_002, shot_demi_004, LibreOffice_dark, LibreOffice_clear(workaround).

I really like the flag/tab effect of the selected menu item (like <Visualizza> in the image).
But you will need a minimum of customization if you use "transparent menus" with Compiz to Match the color.
The <gtkrc> theme file already contains a section with a couple of directions (I use the menu to 90% transparency).
Have a look at the file's contents, I learned so initially, trying to change it!

Despite this isn't a typical "ALL-dark" theme, alike it suffers of color mismatch, when used with non-native Gtk+ applications that tries to replace it's own color scheme (such as OpenOffice / LibreOffice and others).
In these cases we adopt a stratagem by building a second theme with almost the same color scheme (except for dark foreground); and forcing the mischievous applications to use this more clear theme!
The modified theme can be found here: <gtkrc_clear> ,
and this is the script/executable that runs LibreOffice: <soffice> (instructions are inside).

For Sabayon users who like to customize any aspect and are always looking for ideas, I created the package with my graphics settings (includes the background you see here, the settings for wmii, icons, cursors, and other tricks): <Gglass_package.7z>

Now I will try to complete the theme SuperDark already seen a few posts above ...
Then I will try the "pixmap" engine because I think I have a greater predilection for directly manipulating over images... or perhaps some other!

I'm starting to get serious also with SuperDark!
Naturally with regard to my personal taste...

given a look here (and if you want, let me also a suggestion):
SuperDark_pre-shot_001, SuperDark_pre-shot_002

I'm still not happy with the contrast of the various controls (eg for the sliders)...
need some other experiment
