Gglass - Sabayon in gray with smoky glass.

This is my personal theme and complements (...and yours too if you like it) that I use recently with Sabayon-Gnome edition. :wink:
I preferred the Off-topic section so as not to obscure the normal discussions and permit more freedom to this topic... I would be glad of some feedbacks/ideas or changes to those files.
This is not to be construed as a suggestion for future themes that will be present in Sabayon... it's simply desire to share my latest graphics attemps!

More experimental shot here:
shot_000 , shot_001 , shot_002 , shot_003 , shot_004 , shot_005 , shot_006 , shot_007 , shot_008 , shot_009

Furthermore this can be of help to introduce those who had recently turned to the customization of Gnome enviroment (for the information contained).

For now I still have a lot of messed up files having to modify and organize... :lol:
Everything is constantly changing and there are many modifications to configuration files (gtk+ in primis); so please consider it for what it is (an inexpert personal approach)...

In this first post I picked up the themes that I created for Compiz-Emerald, other gadgets will follow shortly...

Here you can find the archive with Themes: emerald_themes.tar.lzma ( decompress it in your home folder ~/.emerald/themes ).
These are my settings for emerald: settings_window ... (but not essential)

See you soon

Beautiful work, as always, alonsoty. It's a pity you're not a KDE user, that's all I can say! ;-)

Unlike alonsoty, I have no artistic talent but I do have a similar look in my KDE install.
I will post back a Screen shot and the component list today.

Thanks guys... in the weekend I will organize to put all the other things!

@Fitzcarraldo
To tell the truth, now I have also KDE on my machine!
But I'm not yet versed in the details, I've never used KDE before.

@Joost
In fact, the Gnome menu, it just depends on the theme: Clearlooks_Ally for colors (it is a modified version of the theme created by Ian for Sabayon)... and by adding a touch of transparency by Compiz.

A little taste (but the final one is on the other machine):
Clearlooks_Ally Gtk-theme (to put into: /usr/share/themes/Clearlooks_Ally/gtk-2.0/gtkrc)

my Compiz profile (remember to save your settings before into another file) might be the case to eliminate any effect (like blur) if your hardware is in difficulties.

Compiz Gnome-tooltip workaround: you need to edit your ~/.gtkrc-2.0 by adding:
Code: Select all
gtk-tooltip-browse-mode-timeout = 10      #default 500
gtk-tooltip-browse-timeout = 300      #default 60
gtk-tooltip-timeout = 300         #default 500

Bye

--- edit ---
have you found it, Joost!

@sqlpython
Nice! Least now I can try as well customize KDE!

Well Folks, my Desktop will have to wait until late tonight it is 6pm EST here now.
OR
Perhaps tomorrow. :(
My post will mean little without Desktop Images and my account at ImageCave is crashing on Uploads.. :x

So within 24 hrs I will post the method, Colors, Scheme and Win Decorations etc.. to get my Translucent look in KDE4..
Like I said I am not artsy like alonsoty.
My effects come by employing the Desktop tools and Downloads available to KDE4

Ok, Seems the servers at ImageCave are now excepting uploads.
This is a Theme based on Downloaded Components such as
Scheme, Win Decorations, Icons, Mozilla Themes etc..
Then Effects adjusted with available tools. You can save the Schem when complete
Under another Name.

The direction here is a Dark yet Translucent Theme.
Components such as
Panel, TitleBars, Inactive & Moving Windows, PopUp Dialogs and DropDown Menus all have some Degree of Translucency.

Colors...........Sliders Active & Inactive Tabs to readable text
ICons............Nuvola Theme
Style............CleanLooks
Desktop Effects>Translucency ...Click on Settings Wrench/Spanner and adjust 50-75%
