Well, obviously a marketing or advertising ploy, but it does show that some manufacturers are starting to wake up to an increasing number of Linux users. Mind you, Alienware is owned by Dell, who already sell some models pre-loaded with Ubuntu. Three guesses which distribution Alienware would offer if they were to start selling PCs/laptops pre-loaded with Linux! :( Perhaps, as the state-of-the-art end of the hardware market, they ought to load SL instead! :geek:

Sorry, but I buied a Sony Vaio F12Z. Sony is a company with no support for linux, but with the .36 kernel all works out of the box. I had a beautyful experience with Dell Inspiron 9300 and linux support. But the new model didn't conveince me, so in august I buyed a Sony.
Dear Dell, too late for me! :bom:
The Freedom Technologies Are Available!

What do you care if Dell sucks? Fill in the onsite survey: the important thing is to be as much as possible! :alien:
