e8500 or q9300

e8500 or q9300

im not sure which one? the e8500 is faster but dual core and the q9300 is slower but quad core. what one would you guys get.

I found a chart at xbitlabs.com. It's not a linux comparative but it shows that both have more or less the same performance.
I think that q9300 will get better results with new updates of programs and at this moment both have the same price so I would get the q9300 :P

I second the vote for more threads.

There are also new C power states in the penryns to lower power in unused portions of the chips.

I have a T9500 in my laptop. Love it. low heat, but can rip a DVD in no time.

always go for more cores. you'll see the difference during compilations.
