Installazione stampante tramite cups

Ciao, ho la stampante hp deskjet p1005 collegata al router di alice tramite la porta usb. Seguendo la procedura che c'era sul manuale ho configurato correttamente la stampante in rete sui 3 pc con windows os. Ora sto cercando di installare questa stampante su sabayon tramite cups. Io vado su http://localhost:631/ e cerco di aggiungere la stampante. Quando devo scegliere marca e modello della stampante vedo che tra i modelli hp mancava il mio così ho installato net-print/hplip-3.11.7 e ora mi trova il modello. L'ho selezionato sono andato avanti ma nel momento in cui provo a stampare una pagina di prova la mia stampante fa uno scatto ma poi si blocca. Dove ho sbagliato?

edit: come protocollo uso http, l'indirizzo è http://alicegate:631/printers/HPLaserJetP1005 ( lo trovo nello stato del router )
mentre come posso scegliere tra quello cups e quello hpij

Ciao, puoi farci vedere i tuoi file:
/var/log/cups/access_log
/var/log/cups/error_log

Potrebbe esserci un problema con i driver, in più, hai provato a usare l'auto-rilevamento della stampante con CUPS?

Un'altra idea è quella che avahi non sia in esecuzione, ho letto spesso che la stampa in rete senza quel servizio non funziona, attivalo con:
(come root)

ho preso solo le righe che riguardavano le prove di ieri sera, dell'error_log ho riportato l'errore sul job 2 ( dovrebbe essere la stampa di prova che è andata a vuoto )

Ho dovuto dividere i 2 log perchè avevo problemi con il numero di caratteri massimi consentiti.
Per quanto riguarda i driver: sul sito hp non trovo quelli per la nostra distribuzione ( non c'è neanche gentoo ) mentre su cups non ci sono proprio quelli per il modello della mia stampante.
L'autorilevamento non so come si fa....non ho trovato l'opzione
