i consider myself lucky, my sabayon with beryl runs more stable than any window$ version i have EVER owned.

personnally, i would like to compare compiz to beryl though. i have no experience with compiz, so i am in for a treat

at work we use window$ (duhhh) and i always miss the multiple desktops and easy window-picking.

one suggestion....fully remove all KDE elements when KDE is not to be installed?
install without KDE still leaves KDE elements behind as is on install...thse include (to my knowledge)

kuroo (which wont work without the rest of kde...so portato as substitute?)

XGL rendering on my ATI 200M chipset seems to be non functional...have not had beryl or compiz funcitonal, nor have had the ability to actually properly set XGL rendering through accel manager
