Sabayon logo: suggestion for designer

I think the new Sabayon logo is a step backwards from a design standpoint. The red, black screen tint, and black are visually too close to each other in value to provide separation in the readers mind. The image gets "lost".

I have just a couple advices:

I personally like more the new logo than the old one, but I also think that the foot print must show up more... IT NEEDS MORE CONTRAST!!!

I think this can be solved by a little color correction:
as you can see in distrowatch homepage, when the logo is used on a non dark background it looses its strength.
A thicker red outline (maybe the red should also be a little bit lighter) and a nice "vibrant" foot print (it MUST shine more than the rest of the logo!!!) would strengthen it enough to cope with light backgrounds :wink:

...I was just practicing with Inkscape...so there it is!
