Also then you can get a basic up to date version as you like it and then from your lan server as a source in the office / home / school you can then get the latest / customized version for each install.
Saves on internet bandwidth and on the ftp server's and also much faster this way , lan versus slow inet.
You could go even 1 step further and have the lan ftp server / source sync once a day and compile packages and / or add a 2nd pc to do the compiling of packages and then just copy it to specific pc's on the lan and install.
Likely someone a bit more clued up than me might give you specific advice / how-to for this.
