yup.

but i tend to install Linux on peoples PC's for them, and they don't always have an internet connection.

it is also nice to have everything there, on the disk, in the event of a re-install.

i like kitchen-sink distro's because they contain everything.

so, how about it? there is inevitably going to be a point release of Sabayon including Beryl 0.2 and various bug fixes, what about adding Taskjuggler, Basket Notes, and updating the packages like Rosegarden and Digicam etc?

You can also emerge all the software you want, then re-master the dvd. It might take a few hours, but at least you would not need to compile the software on other people's computers.

that sounds interesting, and i may well try it in future, but for now I would just like to know what is planned for 3.3x (and provide a gentle prod for a few overlooked items).

Yup something like makelivecd have to look into it / name and how.

What works for Schools / univrst. =

Also then you can get a basic up to date version as you like it and then from your lan server as a source in the office / home / school you can then get the latest / customized version for each install.

Saves on internet bandwidth and on the ftp server's and also much faster this way , lan versus slow inet.

You could go even 1 step further and have the lan ftp server / source sync once a day and compile packages and / or add a 2nd pc to do the compiling of packages and then just copy it to specific pc's on the lan and install.

Likely someone a bit more clued up than me might give you specific advice / how-to for this.

added kernel 2.6.21 to the list because it appears that it may alleviate the many boot problems people are having with 3.3.

added Rosegarden 1.5.1 bug fix release from 14th March

the 3.3 series of Sabayon might well be the last to use Beryl per-se, as they agreed this morning to merge back into compiz, under a new name.

planet sabayon has a post saying that a 3.3.1 DVD iso has been prepared as a bugfix, are there any updated packages in it?

Is possible to spare some place for vi/vim from the next release onwards? It would be nice to have it around in the distro out of the box.
