Just wondering if your planning on getting dmraid back into sabayon for 3.3, you'd just have to add --dmraid to your RR*.spec and dodmraid to the kernel boot options. Granted gparted only kinda works with dmraid devices but fdisk and other cli's work fine. You'd also have to get anaconda to work with /dev/mapper/* (or perhaps link them to regular non-used /dev/sd*), but fedora does it with anaconda so we should also be able to.
Btw I've tested genkernel with --dmraid up to 2.6.20r2 sabayon-sources and so far so good using genkernel 3.4.6 or later.
