.bashrc

Postby snot » Wed May 19, 2010 0:32

I want to contribute a bit by adding some simple stuff to .bashrc but all I can find in the git repos about .bashrc is this: http://gitweb.sabayon.org/?p=skel.git;a ... 8f2b73eed5

where is the .bashrc file located?

best regards,

You mean you want to add some things to .bashrc in your installation? The file is located in your home directory:

/home/snot/.bashrc

If you mean you want to propose a change to .bashrc that would be installed to everyone's HDD from the LiveDVD, you would need to propose it to the developers via the Artwork and Development Suggestions shed (forum).

Do you know about the locate command? If not:

Code: Select all
# equo install slocate
# updatedb
# locate .bashrc

.bashrc

Postby snot » Wed May 19, 2010 9:09

I want to add some simple stuff to .bashrc. Just a few alias (prefixed with #) and coloring for grep and perhaps some more that I cant think of right now.

Anyway the problem is that I cant find .bashrc in the git repository skel. So where is it?

(Just to make sure since I have already spend way way to long time on this very simple thing. I want to submit a patch so everyone can bennefit from this in the futura)

Merged two topics: one from 'Beginners|Newbies Area' and the other from 'Artwork and Development Suggestions'.
