We should add a newbie forum!

Postby Darksurf » Mon Oct 16, 2006 4:44

We need a newbie forum for those who want to ask simple questions about KDE, Gnome, and ask for definitions and what not. I would be proud to help out the newbies to understand linux better. I'm always looking for new linux converts and support their courage greatly. It's a large step to go from whats comfortable to learn something new. I remember my newbie days. I still have one of those days every great once in a while
But really I think my 5 years linux experience could help out the newer linux generation.
As I am only 19.

It will only add more confusion of which forum to post in. We need to keep them in the right areas for askin help.

Gentoo is very well documented, people need to discover what http://www.google.com is all about. The gentoo wiki is loaded with info. If a person really wants to learn they will find the answers.

I could see if this distro was completely new and different from anything else, than yes. Gentoo is very well documented.

Plus this has already been discussed in another thread

which is why there needs to be less forums. how many threads are made for that spam pm like 5. if people saw that on the top of the thread list they would open the thread and reply instead of start a new one...
