Sabayon 3.5 Feature requests/ideas

This might sound stupid but how about having both a working non testing kernel + say testing beta kernel + /lib/.../modules for both on 3.5 loop 2 dvd + installed hd and there after so that if stuff happens and the beta testing kernel part is unhappy the tester can boot into the working stock type kernel version and either fix or post or something.

This could also allow the testing of new drivers in both testing and stock / stable kernel within one installed hd version or comparison to find the problem causing this if bug / problem that is not driver related.

Might be able to somehow update the installed kernel + patches using a xdelta type idea without changing anything else on the installed hd version with both working and testing kernels or just add a new updated testing kernel as 3rd boot option + /lib.../modules .
Rsync xdelta info into something.

Don't know if it's too late to request this but it would be nice to have Azureus updated to the latest verison (now known as "Vuze"). Azureus always wants to update itself but can't without being emerged.
I know not everyone likes the Vuze client, but the Azureus website says you can still use the classic interface if you prefer.

smaller, more crisp graphics to give a cleaner more elegant look.

has anyone seen the artwork for linuxmint? its very nice looking, maybe something along those lines.

build sabayon with the assumption of a hardware accelerated computing platform with higher end systems. There are a boatload of linux distrobutions made for lower end and barebone machines, sabayon should be a little bit more demanding but deliver alot more in return (especially aesthetically).

A graphical installer client for all programs, a stand-alone from portage enabled to run binaries to extract, compile, install.

Other than that, nothing... keep up the great work guys on this awesome linux distro

Since I am still new to SL, and Linux in general, of course I would love to have as many useful OOTB applications/drivers as possible in 3.5. Its odd, SL 1.1 Pro detected my network and Belkin USB Adapter(rt73) OOTB, but 3.4F failed to do that, hopefully that is corrected in 3.5.

Also, if possible, have the option to edit up the make.conf file as part of the installation process of SL. Just yesterday I was attempting to install Gentoo on another pc, and it had a gui to make editing the make.conf much easier..but all i could see was the gui and couldnt edit anything at all since that pc was not hooked up to the internet.

Besides that and what other people previously stated, can't think of anything else really that would make SL any better

I think it would be a good idea to develop some kind of script (at least, if not an actual program with a gui!) to remaster SabayonLinux as you wish.
Ubuntu, PCLinuxOS and other distros (Debian, Fedora, etc...) have this feature and I think it's a really interesting and powerful one.

And, if it isn't already, update KDE to 4.0.1.

I also would love if you could replace Konversation with XChat, but then, that's just me.

*edit* It would also be nice if someone could find a mixer that could control the volumes of each program, like Vista, depressingly.

KDE 4 will not be default till it's stable version - 4.0.1 is dev version, not production version

A friend of mine told me about a very good DVD ripper. It's called Handbrake. The website for it is http://handbrake.fr/
I haven't looked yet to see if it's in Portage since I'm testing out another distro at the moment, but it would be nice to see it included. But it's not a make-or-break issue if it is or not.
